Why your status goes Away.
Your operating system keeps an idle timer, based on the last time you moved the mouse or pressed a key. Apps like Teams, Slack, and Zoom read that timer. After a few minutes with no input, they switch you to Away, even when you're reading a long document, presenting from a second screen, or on a call away from the keyboard.
Hovr keeps that idle timer from tripping, so your presence reflects what's actually true: you're still there, still working. It does this entirely through the USB port. There's no software, no driver, and nothing running on your machine to manage or update.

Does it install any software?
No. Hovr is hardware only. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is installed, and nothing runs on your computer. Unplug it and there's no trace left behind.
Does it work with Teams, Slack, and Zoom?
Yes. Those apps mark you Away after a stretch of inactivity. Hovr keeps your computer active, so reading a long doc or taking a call away from the keyboard doesn't drop your status.
Will it work on my laptop?
If it has a USB-A or USB-C port and runs Windows or macOS, yes. There's nothing to configure, just plug it in.
Does it need to be charged?
No. It draws power from the USB port, so there's no battery to worry about. Plug in and go.
Will it get in the way while I'm working?
No. Hovr is designed to be unobtrusive. When you're actively using your computer, you won't notice it's there.
